I've just taken the grand tour of Author's Guild blogs and learned a great deal on the way. First off, I seem to be timid when it comes to color. Folks are actually using the day-glow oranges and melt-your-fillings green that are offered on some of the templates. But I'm old, Father William, and thus restricting myself to black type as much as possible and a little serene green for grass and blue for skies.
Not that you'd know skies were blue if you'd been living here in Louisville with me this year. Since the first of the year, we've not had a single day above freezing. As for sunshine, a few rays wandered in for my dog to lie upon yesterday, but otherwise skies have been a low, tepid gray.
My other discovery is that people are cramming their websites with photos of this, that, and everything. Themselves, yes, and places where they're doing readings, but also plain old stuff, like art and flowers and photography. I've got scads, so keep your eyes open for changes to come.
